The 2003 Civic Hybrid, the second hybrid vehicle in the Honda line-up is expected to be in stores May 2002. Equipped with Honda’s second-generation Integrated Motor Assist system (IMA), it is the first mainstream gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle to be sold in North America.

Recently, the production ready 2003 Honda Pilot made its debut on the international stage. The Canadian built SUV shares the same platform and mechanical components as the Acura MDX. It will be built on the same assembly line at Honda’s plant in Alliston, Ontario. Honda has scheduled release to be mid-June.

Introduced at the 2001 Detroit auto show as the Model X concept vehicle, look for this vehicle roaming the streets, as it is introduced as the 2003 Honda Element later this year. With a flip-up navigation screen and a system that provides a wireless Internet Connection for onboard e-mail, this SUV is built to cater the modern day.

Two possible products are on display in New York, the edgy ccX and the squared-off bbX, which bears a strong resemblance to the old Chevrolet Astro Van. Of the two, bbX seems most likely to actually make it to market, Toyota officials hinted.
